WHAT WE DO
Do you have that very old valuable book, hidden in the closet for years, that needs restoration?
Then you have come to the right place. As a traditional handbook binder by heart, I love to design and create custom-made books for both new and old books. I have a specialty in restoring very old bibles from 1800, in the leather style. I can also restore other old books. In the past, I have served different clients including friends, family pastors, Dutch hospitals, library books, and doctors’ offices. Additionally, I have bound books for a Jewish wedding, a baby dedication, and a restaurant. I also bound Dutch newspapers for a client. To serve my community, I also volunteered to tutor elementary school students on basic handbook binding skills using paper and simple tools, and showing the use of letters and a letterpress.
The Customized Treat!!!
Customers can tell what they want with the cover of their books. They can choose the colour and also request book covers with inscribed personalized names. The linen material used for covering the books comes in different shades of colours: black, blue, green, red, brown, yellow, orange, pink, white, cream, and sandy colours. There are different treats one can choose from using real leather, imitation leather, and an Italian book cloth called buckram r. I have leather styles for Bibles and other books in black, blue, deep red, and green. Decorative paper covers with different designs are also available. The personalized names are also printed in different colours: gold, silver or blueprints.
